Privacy Policy

We collect and process personal data only on the basis of the legal provisions (General Data Protection Regulation, Austrian Telecommunications Act 2003).

As soon as you access or visit our website as a user, your IP address and the start and end of the session are recorded. This is technically necessary and therefore constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

01Contacting us

If you contact us by email, the data you provide will be stored by us for six months for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. Your data will not be passed on without your consent.

02Cookies

Our website itself does not set any cookies for tracking or marketing purposes. For display purposes we only store a technically necessary setting — such as the selected summer or winter view — locally in your browser (local storage). This information contains no personal data and is not transmitted to us.

In the password-protected guest area “My stay”, a technically necessary session cookie is set. It serves solely to keep you logged in during your visit, contains no advertising or analytics data, and ends when you log out or close your browser.

Embedded third-party services may set their own cookies — the Smoobu booking tool and, only after you click to load it, Google Maps. For details, please refer to these providers’ privacy notices (see below).

You can set up your browser to inform you when cookies are set, to allow cookies only on a case-by-case basis, or to reject them entirely. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of our website — in particular the login area.

03Booking system (Smoobu)

To display availability and handle direct bookings, we use the booking tool of the provider Smoobu. The service provider of this function is:

The booking tool is loaded as embedded content (iframe) from the servers of Smoobu GmbH. When you open the booking area, your IP address is transmitted to Smoobu — for technical reasons — so that the calendar can be displayed in your browser. If you enter data during the booking process (e.g. name, address, travel dates as well as contact and payment details), these are processed by Smoobu for the purpose of handling and managing your reservation.

Processing is carried out to fulfil the accommodation contract or to take pre-contractual measures pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, as well as on the basis of our legitimate interest in efficient and secure booking handling pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Guest area “My stay”

Via the password-protected “My stay” area, logged-in guests can view the details of their own booking — such as travel dates and messages. You log in using your booking number and your surname. The relevant booking data is retrieved from Smoobu server-to-server; your IP address is not passed on to Smoobu in this process. The legal basis is the performance of the accommodation contract pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

04Google Maps

Our website uses features of the web mapping service “Google Maps”. The service provider of this function is:

On our website, the map is not active automatically. It is only loaded once you explicitly activate it by clicking the “Load map” button. Until you click, no data is transmitted to Google.

Only with your click — and thus your consent — is the map loaded from the provider’s servers. This makes it necessary to process your IP address; Google generally transfers it to a server in the USA and stores the data there. Processing is carried out by the service provider named above; the operator of this website has no influence over this transfer.

The legal basis for loading the map is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR in conjunction with § 96 (3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by using the site without activating the map. Using Google Maps makes it easier to find the locations provided on our website.

05Fonts

Our website uses the typefaces “Cormorant Garamond” and “Hanken Grotesk”. These are served locally from our own server (self-hosted) and are not loaded from a third-party provider.

Therefore, no personal data — in particular no IP address — is transmitted to Google or any other third party when the fonts are loaded.

06Server log files

This website and the associated provider automatically collect information in so-called “server log files” when the website is used. This concerns in particular:

• IP address or host name
• the browser used
• time spent on the website as well as date and time
• pages of the website accessed
• language settings and operating system
• “leaving page” (the URL from which the user left the website)
• ISP (Internet Service Provider)

This collected information is not processed in a personally identifiable way or linked to personal data. The website operator reserves the right to evaluate or review this data if unlawful activity becomes known.
